Do you find JYA’s writing impenetrable?
He speaks plain English in a rare interview.
And neatly untangles the insanity of this Snowden business, the attendant spy-vs-spy, and the twisted yet strangely fascinating methods of intelligence and counterintelligence when faced with the media.
I wish there was a transcript, but there’s not. I’m still going to make you listen to it instead of trying to summarize. (Use VLC’s double-speed playback if you’re in a hurry.)

No, I don’t agree with all his opinions, but he’s still worth listening to.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev believed he was a victim of “MAJESTIC mind control” — i.e, the split-personality technique I’ve covered here at length.
The article’s descriptions of Tsarnaev’s symptoms are only partly consistent with other published cases — Candy Jones, for example, was not consciously aware of her alternate personality most of the time. However, Candy was known to hold conversations with said personality when she thought she was alone, so it’s hard to say. (Candy’s mother once thought Candy had a lover.)
The critical question is, if it did happen to Tamerlan, when did this come about? Creating this sort of thing in someone is not a matter of a few days, it’s a long process. (Unless the technology has gotten much more advanced than I know. Milder versions, where the “alternate” is not capable of taking over control of the body, may be much easier as well.)
““[Tamerlan] believed in majestic mind control, which is a way of breaking down a person and creating an alternative personality with which they must coexist,” explained Larking. “You can give a signal, a phrase or a gesture, and bring out the alternate personality and make them do things. Tamerlan thought someone might have done that to him.”
The person inside him, as Tamerlan described it to Larking, “was someone who wanted to control him to make him do something.””

German PM Angela Merkel — who grew up in East Germany, was a “Secretary for Agitation and Propaganda,” and claims to have turned down a Stasi offer — on the NSA spying?
“This is like the Stasi.”
Bruce Schneier is leaving British Telecom, one of the phone companies that helped GCHQ do the mass surveillance thing. Everyone involved denies the departure is connected to the leaks. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/12/16/bruce_schneier_leaves_bt/
