Greenwald Book Redux (and Lifehacking: CES/tACS for Lucid Dreaming)

Lifehacking: Using electrosleep / CES to induce lucid dreaming. Here they call CES by the name tACS — sometimes it seems like every researcher who uses it comes up with a new name for the technique. http://www.nature.com/neuro/journal/vaop/ncurrent/full/nn.3719.html

Greenwald released the Snowden docs which he cited in his book today.[1] Also a second excerpt from the book [2] which is interesting and alarming for anyone with an even vaguely political bent but which contains little new. Just remember to watch out for people who seem to be “legitimising violence” or trying to “construct an experience” in people’s minds “which should be accepted so they don’t realise.”

Among the docs, there are some real gems among the 108 pages here… like a photo of NSA spies surreptitiously opening a Cisco router package-in-transit to install bugs. [p. 62 of the PDF]

Page 95/96 has two remarkably telling slides:
“Oh Yeah… put Money, National Interest, and Ego together, and now you’re talking about shaping the world writ large.

What country doesn’t want to make the world a better place… for itself?

What’s the threat?

Let’s be blunt — the Western World (especially the US) gained influence and made a lot of money via the drafting of earlier standards.

The US was the major player in shaping today’s Internet. This resulted in pervasive exportation of American culture as well as technology. It also resulted in a lot of money being made by US entities.”

Or consider page 38 of the PDF, which lists all the NSA “Third Parties” — the non-Five Eyes countries with which the NSA still has close cooperation:

Algeria
Austria
Belgium
Croatia
Czech Republic
Denmark
Ethiopia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
India
Israel
Italy
Japan
Jordan
Korea
Macedonia
Netherlands
Norway
Pakistan
Poland
Romania
Saudi Arabia
Singapore
Spain
Sweden
Taiwan
Thailand
Tunisia
Turkey
UAE
