Weird science meets lifehacking update: Yesterday I noted that the 10hz pulse rep rate of the Soviet DUGA-3 “Russian Woodpecker” OTH radar system’s 7-19Mhz carrier would likely be psychoactive: causing brainwave entrainment and possibly a ‘collective consciousness lite’ effect.
In the interest of backing that up with some peer-reviewed citations, here are two studies which come closer than most to demonstrating that assertion.
Blake T. Dotta, Carly A. Buckner, Robert M. Lafrenie, Michael A. Persinger, Photon emissions from human brain and cell culture exposed to distally rotating magnetic fields shared by separate light-stimulated brains and cells, Brain Research, Volume 1388, 4 May 2011, Pages 77-88, ISSN 0006-8993 (Full text available free from persingerpublications.com)
Dotta, B. and Persinger, M. (2012) “Doubling” of local photon emissions when two simultaneous, spatially-separated, chemiluminescent reactions share the same magnetic field configurations. Journal of Biophysical Chemistry, 3, 72-80. doi: 10.4236/jbpc.2012.31009. (http://www.scirp.org/journal/PaperInformation.aspx?paperID=17181)
(It’s my understanding that without the spatial modulation of the rotating magnetic field used in the studies, the effect would be less pronounced, but still more than plausible.
Also key to understanding here is that the DUGA-3’s 10Hz is the easiest frequency for causing brainwave entrainment, the brain would probably lock on to a banana if you banged it ten times a second.
Lastly, for anyone who feels creeped out by all this, the solution is to generate a very low-intensity magnetic field locally at a 10hz pulse rep rate. That way your brain locks onto the local oscillator instead of the big scary Russian one. See the ‘micropower TMS’ in the archives.
Fun fact: the DUGA-3 may be out of operation, but apparently the Chinese have built their own! So grab yourself a 555 and a solenoid coil and get soldering.)
Snowden leak du jour… NSA is snooping on every cell call in the Bahamas. Without the country’s government’s knowledge.
But wait, drama! Wikileaks doesn’t like First Look’s censoring the name of another country getting this treatment. So they’ve announced they’ll be unveiling it in 72 hours.
Except, I thought Wikileaks didn’t have their own copy of the Snowden docs… or is this what Assange meant about, “Snowden is the 9th best hacker in the world, I’m the third”…?
And sorry about the headline, I just couldn’t resist. In other news, if you’re a regular JYA reader, look up “Marvin Boggs”…
